“Connecting Girls to STEM” Project Kickstarts in Brindisi, Italy
BRINDISI, Italy – September 5, 2023 – The “Connecting Girls to STEM” training course began this week in Brindisi, Italy, a pivotal initiative aimed at enhancing female students’ interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education.
The project primarily focuses on promoting gender equality and equal opportunities in STEM sectors, which have historically witnessed gender disparity. It emphasizes the importance of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), digital competencies, and overcoming skills mismatches, ensuring students possess both basic and transversal skills.
This week-long training serves as a platform for teachers and trainers to explore advanced digital technologies and interdisciplinary learning methodologies. Such an approach is anticipated to bridge the existing skills gap in the labour market, equipping students for future STEM roles.
The initiative is executed in collaboration with the Istituto Tecnico Tecnologico “g. Giorgi” Brindisi and has garnered international partnership support from the Hadiye Kuradaci Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi, Instituto De Enseñanza Secundaria Santa Lucía, and ILA.
