Meeting Held Between the National Volunteer Committee, UNDP, and the Directorate General of Civil Society Relations

On Wednesday, July 24, an important meeting took place between the National Volunteer Committee (NVC) Volunteer Legislation Sub-Working Group, ILA, UNDP, and representatives from the Directorate General of Civil Society Relations of the Ministry of Interior.

During the meeting, the progress of the Strengthening Civil Participation for Democratic Local Governance Project in Turkey was evaluated. Discussions focused on the work being done on volunteer legislation and the action plans designed to enhance civil participation. It was noted that the Green Paper initiative will be transformed into a White Paper by September, followed by workshops to be held in Istanbul, Ankara, and Mersin.

Additionally, plans for education and communication campaigns to promote volunteerism and events for International Volunteer Day on December 5 were highlighted. The contribution of NVC members to these processes was deemed essential. The meeting was considered a significant step towards strengthening civil participation and volunteerism.
