“E-mentorship for (e)quality in Early Childhood Education” Project’s Training Course Was Held in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on 02 – 05 October 2024

The activity brought together project partners and participants to focus on enhancing e-mentorship strategies for novice preschool teachers. The initiative aims to improve the quality of education and support children’s early learning experiences, particularly in schools with disadvantaged students.

The first day of the meeting opened with a warm welcome and participant introductions, followed by an overview of the project’s management tasks, including reviewing the action plan, progress reporting, and financial management. The afternoon session focused on e-learning content development, where participants discussed the creation and translation of learning materials, along with strategies for ensuring content quality.

The second day covered the architecture and functionality of the e-Mentorship Portal, emphasizing the system’s user interface, roles, and responsibilities within the platform. The partners were also informed on monitoring and using the portal, followed by discussions on integrating the mentorship portal with the learning portal and future developments.

Impact:
The “E-mentorship for (E)quality in Early Childhood Education” project brought experienced and novice teachers together to support children’s early childhood experience and reduce their achievement gap. The project developed an effective one-to-one e-mentorship program for novice preschool teachers assigned to schools with predominantly disadvantaged students.

In addition to the formal sessions, the partners participated in cultural tours, which facilitated team building and deepened their understanding of Amsterdam’s cultural environment.
