Innovative Approaches in Linguistics and Education Highlighted at International Conference
On May 15, 2024, the IV International Scientific and Practical Internet Conference titled “Modern Problems of Philology and Teaching Methods in the Context of European Integration” took place, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Khmelnytskyi Humanitarian-Pedagogical Academy, Leopold Franzens University Innsbruck and ILA. This comprehensive event addressed several key thematic areas, including modern problems in linguistics, language and intercultural communication, modern technologies for teaching foreign languages within the context of European integration, and the theory and practice of teaching in higher education. The conference also focused on the nuances of basic general secondary education in the context of the New Ukrainian School, specialized education in high school, and the organization of educational processes during wartime.
The conference provided a platform for scholars and educators to present and discuss a wide range of topics. These included interpreting non-standard lexical structures, challenges in translating professionally oriented terminology, stress resilience in students under wartime conditions, and the impact of verbal communication on intercultural interactions. The sessions further explored the use of modern teaching technologies, collaborative writing strategies, and methods to enhance students’ communicative and critical thinking skills. Emphasizing the importance of innovative approaches, the event highlighted both the advantages and challenges of distance learning, the adaptation of educational materials during wartime, and the development of learner autonomy. Participants benefited from exchanging ideas and received certificates recognizing their engagement in the six academic hour sessions.
